« Slow-cooning » en hiver pour vivre l'exotisme à son paroxysme

“Slow-cooning” is our little word for a winter lifestyle that blends slow tourism and Nordic cocooning. For four days, let yourself be carried away by the slowness, the silence of the snowy forest, the comfort of warm accommodations, and the magic of Quebec’s winterapy.

Day 1 : Montreal to Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci

Leaving Montreal in the morning, the air becomes cleaner, the forests denser, and the peaks gently whitened by snow. First activity suggestion: dog sledding at Aventures Liguoriennes in Saint-Liguori, along the way.

Arrival at Expérience Équinox, where accommodations are available in four-season immersive domes: panoramic roof, private spa, indoor and outdoor fireplace, full kitchen… each dome is designed for comfort and total immersion in nature.

Spend the afternoon strolling the surrounding trails—snowshoeing is available on site—then return to warm up around the fireplace, savoring the warmth of the wood, the subdued lighting, and the snowy silence.

At night, under the stars visible through the glass dome, you’ll be lulled by the breath of the mountain.

Day 2 : Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci à Rawdon

A hot bath is followed by a cold-water immersion for the bravest, followed by a relaxing period by the fire or inside. Enjoy a meal at the spa’s bistro, where they serve delicious local produce.

After a gentle awakening in your pod, head to St-Paulin to reach Le Baluchon Eco-Resort.

At Le Baluchon, everything is designed to respect nature: a variety of accommodations (inns, chalets), local cuisine, a nature spa, and eco-responsibility.

Several activities are available on site. Treat yourself to a snowshoe hike on the trails (Le Baluchon offers approximately 35 km of snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails) or a contemplative stroll along the river in the sleepy forest. Horseback riding and dog sledding are also available ($$).

In the evening, enjoy the spa, the outdoor Nordic bath, or treatments to soothe your muscles. Then, enjoy a gourmet feast inspired by local products in the restaurant.

Day 4 : St-Paulin to St-Jean-des-Piles

At the end of the day, head to Nature Nature, located in St-Jean-des-Piles, on the banks of the Saint-Maurice River, perched on the mountainside near the park.

This place offers eco-friendly accommodations (eco-shelters, micro-shelters, cabins, and a thermal chalet) in a minimalist, unpretentious style, where “nature is at the heart of every choice.”

In the evening, by the fire, you will reflect on these four days of gentle immersion: forests, snow, well-being, silence and a deep connection with the land – a winterapy slow-cooning where exoticism is embodied in the contrast of Nordic nature and inner softness!
