Flora and Fauna Observation

While the wildlife keeps a watchful eye, the flora is poised to captivate you. At the heart of Authentic Quebec, the abundant and diverse fauna and biodiversity are a testament to the vastness of our territory. The region’s reputation is well established among birdwatchers. Don’t miss the UNESCO-recognized Lac Saint-Pierre Biosphere Reserve, home to over 200 bird species, including Great Blue Herons, thanks to our various vantage points such as the SCIRBI trails in Berthierville and the free-of-charge Pointe-à-Caron walkway in Louiseville. While bird-watching can be enjoyed year-round, spring is an ideal time to get started; the absence of leaves on the trees makes spotting these winged creatures easier.

Though possible year-round, spring is prime bird-watching season. Leafless trees ease sightings of blue jays, cardinals, American robins, chickadees, woodpeckers, warblers, goldfinches, great blue herons, snow geese, Canada geese, bald eagles and more.

Don’t be surprised to encounter migratory birds, deer, moose, or beavers along trails: Canadian wildlife thrives here. Numerous regional and national parks await to reveal nature’s bounty through guided tours or interpretative trails.
